What is Conveyor Belt Skirting?

A Conveyor Dust Curtain is a passive dust control device installed inside the transfer zone of the conveyor system. They act as an air barrier, helping to reduce airflow velocity at the discharge point, thereby allowing dust to settle back onto the belt instead of dispersing into the environment.

Conveyor Skirting helps contain material, minimizing spillage and escape from the conveyor, resulting in higher productivity, better efficiency, and increased revenue. Conveyor sealing solutions include skirting products that ride on the belt and self-adjust to maintain an effective seal without the need for frequent maintenance.

We also provide wear liners that help protect the sealing system from material loading, extending the lifespan of the sealing components. These products are designed to minimize dust and fine particles escaping from the conveyor. Our conveyor sealing products are available for trough angles from 0 to 45 degrees. Additionally, the compact design allows for installation with only 1¼ inches (50mm) of free space on each side of the conveyor.

Technical Specifications of Conveyor Dust Curtains

• Construction: Made of 6 mm (1/4 inch) thick rubber with high elasticity and good abrasion resistance.
• Hanging sheet design: Some sheets are slit to accommodate material flow, while others are solid (unslit) to increase air blocking efficiency.
• Curtain length: Hangs approximately 25 mm (1 inch) below the material surface to avoid disrupting the flow.
• Flexible installation: Can be bolted to the steel frame, making it easy to replace and maintain.
• Creates a settling zone: When installing multiple curtains spaced 450–900 mm apart, they form an air deceleration zone, helping dust settle more effectively.
• Compatible with sealing and dust collection systems: Can be combined with ApronSeal™, suppression systems, or dust collectors.
